French Speaking Compliance Control & Risk Management Team Leader

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Compliance Control & Risk Management Team Leader to join our Lisbon office. The role involves leading a team that ensures adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and risk frameworks while fostering a culture of integrity and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of Compliance Control & Risk Management Specialists.
• Monitor compliance with regulations, company policies and industry standards.
• Conduct risk assessments and identify compliance vulnerabilities across operations.
• Design, implement and maintain control frameworks and mitigation strategies.
• Review operational processes and recommend improvements to strengthen internal controls.
• Analyse incidents, investigate root causes and oversee corrective action plans.
• Prepare reports, dashboards and presentations for senior management.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to implement compliance initiatives.
• Support internal and external audits and ensure timely resolution of findings.
• Stay updated on regulatory developments and best practices.

Required profile

• Fluent French (C1/C2) and strong English communication skills (B2/C1).
• Previous experience in compliance, risk management, internal controls, audit or financial crime prevention.
• Prior leadership or team‑management experience.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and organizational abilities.
• Experience in a fast‑paced, international environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Law, Risk Management or a related field (preferred).
