Buyer Specialist – Core Business (French Speaker)

About the role

The Buyer Specialist for Core Business supports the BNP Paribas Group Category team in optimizing spend across designated purchasing segments. Reporting to a Group Category Team Leader, the role ensures compliance with group procurement rules, drives supplier relationship management, and contributes to the overall efficiency of the bank’s procurement function. Fluency in French is required.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement a procurement strategy and action plan for assigned segments.
• Oversee execution of the purchasing plan across BNP Paribas entities.
• Manage supplier relationships, acting as Key Supplier Manager for major suppliers.
• Ensure internal customer satisfaction regarding cost, quality, deadlines, and service levels.
• Contribute to cross‑functional purchasing initiatives and process improvements.
• Manage an expense budget of up to several hundred million euros with a global scope.
• Guarantee compliance with the Group’s Corporate Social Responsibility policy.
• Lead multi‑functional teams, coach Entity Buyers, and coordinate with Entity Chief Procurement Officers.
• Supervise supplier selection processes and monitor achievement and reporting of savings.
• Communicate procurement results to entity purchasing teams and support implementation of global supplier actions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in strategic procurement or category management, preferably within the financial services sector.
• Track record of managing budgets of several hundred million euros.
• Strong knowledge of group procurement rules, CSR policies, and supplier governance.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams and influence internal stakeholders.
• Fluency in French and English.
