Founding Mobile Engineer

About the role

Variacode is building a personal health infrastructure that puts medical records back in the hands of individuals. As a Founding Mobile Engineer you will own the mobile experience from day one, delivering a high‑performance iOS and Android app that connects users with their daily health data.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and ship the primary mobile application for iOS and Android using React Native.
• Leverage AI‑augmented tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, Windsurf) to generate, debug, and optimise code.
• Architect scalable, maintainable systems and curate AI‑generated outputs.
• Ensure code quality, comprehensive test coverage and high performance across the mobile stack.
• Manage app releases on the App Store and Google Play and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with Product, Design and Backend teams to refine UI/UX and reduce technical debt.

Required profile

• 4+ years of software development experience with a strong focus on mobile.
• Proven track record of shipping apps to the App Store and Google Play.
• Fluent English communication skills.
