Field Service Technician

About the role

Globe 24-7 is seeking experienced Field Service Technicians to join its technical team in Portugal. The role involves delivering on‑site inspection, diagnosis, maintenance and repair of heavy mining equipment, supporting customers to maximise equipment availability, reliability and performance in underground mining environments.

Key responsibilities

• Perform field‑based inspection, servicing, maintenance and repair of heavy mining equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronic faults.
• Carry out planned, preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Identify root causes of failures and implement effective repair solutions.
• Conduct equipment inspections, condition assessments and support commissioning, testing and return‑to‑service activities.
• Provide technical support to customers and internal operational teams.
• Maintain accurate service reports, technical records and maintenance documentation.
• Ensure all work complies with HSE requirements and technical procedures while minimising downtime.

Required profile

• EU or UK residency.
• Proven experience as a Field Service Technician, Mining Technician or Heavy Equipment Technician.
• Solid mining experience, preferably in underground operations.
• Hands‑on experience diagnosing and repairing heavy mobile mining equipment.
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting capability.
• Ability to read and interpret technical, hydraulic and electrical diagrams.
• Experience with preventive and corrective maintenance on heavy equipment.
• Independent field work style with strong customer relationship skills.
• Commitment to safety, quality and technical standards.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites.
