About the role

Mapfre is looking for a Data Governance Specialist to lead the company’s data governance strategy from its central office in Hato Rey. You will ensure that data policies, standards and processes are defined and applied, guaranteeing high quality, integrity and availability of information across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Define, implement and monitor the Data Governance framework.
• Collaborate with business and technology teams to create data policies, standards and procedures.
• Supervise functional and technical data quality and maintain the business glossary and data dictionary.
• Document data lineage, glossary and dictionary information.
• Participate in the design of data models and validation of data sources.
• Track KPIs related to data governance implementation and data quality.
• Support change‑management processes and promote data adoption.
• Coordinate cross‑functional initiatives and identify opportunities for data analytics and monetisation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field.
• Knowledge of data governance, data quality or information management.
• Understanding of data models, structures and data tools.
• Experience documenting data (glossary, dictionary, lineage).
• Strong analytical and interpretation skills.
• Project management or inter‑area coordination experience.
• Ability to work with KPIs and monitor initiatives.
