Entry-Level Field Technician - Construction Materials Testing

About the role

Intertek is seeking an entry‑level Field Technician to join its Building & Construction team in Toa Baja, Puerto Rico. The role supports construction materials testing projects, performing on‑site observations and laboratory tests under supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Operate testing equipment to conduct soil, concrete and other material tests.
• Collect, document and analyse test data, performing calculations as required.
• Prepare and submit clear test reports and data summaries.
• Interpret drawings, specifications and diagrams to guide testing activities.
• Observe site activities, record observations and provide limited result interpretation.
• Communicate findings and status updates to clients and project teams.
• Follow all safety practices and company policies on‑site.

Required profile

• Effective written, verbal and listening communication skills.
• Ability to work under general supervision and follow detailed procedures.
• Strong attention to safety and adherence to safety policies.

Required skills

• Testing equipment operation.
• Soil and concrete testing techniques.
• Data documentation and reporting.
