Engineering Team Leader

About the role

Remote is looking for an Engineering Team Leader to guide a small product team of 3‑5 engineers working on both backend and frontend components. The role blends hands‑on development with people management, helping the team deliver high‑quality features while fostering growth and collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a cross‑functional product team, spending about 30% of time on management duties.
• Contribute directly to product development alongside the team.
• Drive hiring, onboarding, and career development for engineers.
• Maintain healthy team dynamics, provide continuous feedback, and coach team members.
• Redesign engineering delivery using autonomous agents as the default execution layer.
• Design and operationalize end‑to‑end agentic workflows (spec → plan → execute → verify).
• Build reusable agentic primitives and verification loops to ensure reliability, security, and scalability.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing an engineering team of at least two people.
• Strong background in backend development, preferably with Elixir/Phoenix, Ruby, or other functional programming languages.
• Commitment to Remote’s core values and a track record of shipping production‑ready products.
