Engineering Manager – Strategic Fleet Planning

About the role

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the Strategic Fleet Planning team at SIXT. The role sits inside the Revenue Management organization and works closely with Product, Data Science and business stakeholders to turn fleet strategy into production software that guides vehicle acquisition and deployment worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end delivery of the Strategic Fleet Planning platform, from requirements to shipping reliable code on AWS.
• Lead, coach and grow a colocated engineering team in Portugal, fostering agentic and full‑stack practices.
• Prioritise and execute a rotating portfolio of high‑impact engineering projects across SIXT’s tech stack.
• Collaborate with peer engineering managers on cross‑cutting initiatives such as AI adoption and security.
• Act as a product partner, shaping the backlog, challenging low‑value requests and measuring business impact of releases.

Required profile

• Proven experience building and scaling software engineering teams, preferably delivering decision‑support or optimisation systems.
• Hands‑on background in delivering production services on AWS.
• Strong communication skills to align engineers, product owners and business leaders.
