Engineering Manager – Lead Software Development Team

About the role

Intermedia is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team of software engineers building backend services and AI‑enabled data insights. You will own execution across the full software development lifecycle while collaborating closely with product, AI/ML, data, and DevOps teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high‑performing team of software engineers.
• Own end‑to‑end delivery from requirements and design through testing, deployment, and production support.
• Partner with product, AI/ML, and data stakeholders to translate strategy into clear engineering priorities.
• Define and enforce sound architecture for scalable backend services, APIs, and data processing pipelines.
• Drive predictable delivery by managing priorities, dependencies, risks, and removing obstacles.
• Ensure solutions meet standards for quality, scalability, reliability, performance, security, and observability.
• Promote strong engineering practices such as code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, documentation, and monitoring.
• Foster collaboration across software, AI/ML, data, and product teams.
• Recruit, interview, onboard, and retain top engineering talent.
• Support professional growth through coaching, performance management, and career development planning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of software development experience with a track record of leading engineering teams.
• Strong background in backend development, APIs, distributed systems, and cloud architectures.
• Experience managing the full software lifecycle, including planning, design, testing, deployment, and operations.
• Proven ability to set goals, provide feedback, and develop engineers’ careers.
• Effective partnership with product management to translate business objectives into engineering plans.
• Solid understanding of software quality, testing, CI/CD, observability, and operational excellence.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work across technical and non‑technical teams.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies.
