Embedded Software Engineer – eBike Systems

About the role

Join Bosch's Ovar team to adapt and enhance embedded software for the next generation of e‑bike drive units. You will create and maintain the core tools that support the entire development lifecycle, from early research to final industrialisation.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain internal software tools for prototyping, R&D, embedded testing, and product certification.
• Optimise and evolve the embedded software toolchain (build systems, compilers) to boost team efficiency.
• Collaborate with international, cross‑functional teams to deliver intuitive GUI and CLI applications for embedded systems.
• Implement and improve toolchain and artifact‑management solutions aligned with modern industry standards.
• Ensure robust version control, documentation, and traceability using Git and GitHub.
• Continuously analyse and improve development workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and internal software processes.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or a related technical field.
• Proven professional experience in embedded software development using C, with exposure to system‑level development and toolchains.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python.
• Familiarity with build systems such as CMake and ARM GNU toolchains.
• Strong understanding of Linux environments and low‑level hardware (reading schematics/datasheets, debugging tools).
• Experience with CI/CD systems, e.g., Jenkins or Git‑based pipelines.
• Version‑control expertise with Git and GitHub.
