DevOps Engineer (Deployment)

About the role

Intermedia is seeking a Deployment‑focused DevOps Engineer to own and improve application deployment processes across environments. You will design, build and maintain automated pipelines that ensure releases are reliable, repeatable, secure and fast for production.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full release lifecycle: build, package, deploy, verify, and rollback.
• Develop and maintain Octopus Deploy projects, lifecycles, channels, variables and deployment processes.
• Create and manage Ansible playbooks, roles and inventories for idempotent configuration changes.
• Maintain Git‑based release workflows in GitHub, including branching, tagging, versioning and release notes.
• Build and sustain CI pipelines (GitHub Actions or equivalent) to produce artifacts and trigger Octopus releases.
• Standardize deployment patterns using templates, shared steps and reusable Ansible roles.
• Manage environment configuration and secrets with controlled variable sets, permissions and auditing.
• Enhance deployment safety through approvals, health checks, smoke tests, automated validation and rollback strategies.
• Support production releases, troubleshoot failures and lead root‑cause analysis.
• Maintain release documentation, runbooks and change‑management practices.
• Collaborate with developers, QA and operations to plan releases and minimise downtime.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a DevOps, Release or Deployment Engineer supporting production deployments.
• Strong hands‑on expertise with Octopus Deploy, Ansible and GitHub.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD concepts, artifact management and version promotion.
