Design Engineer (EU)

About the role

As a Design Engineer at Ashby, you will bridge design and engineering to create and evolve our in‑house design system while delivering high‑impact UI features for our talent acquisition platform.

Key responsibilities

• Redesign the mobile web app by conducting user interviews, wireframing new flows, and turning designs into production‑ready code.
• Build flexible, composable React components that extend the design system (e.g., custom autocompletes with filters and record‑creation capabilities).
• Consult with engineers on bespoke UI work, improving information hierarchy and scannability of candidate assessments.
• Collaborate with product and design teams to iterate on prototypes that combine Figma mockups with real data and logic.

Required profile

• Strong passion for both visual design and front‑end development.
• Experience turning design concepts into functional React applications.
• Ability to communicate design decisions clearly to engineering peers.
