Deployment DevOps Engineer

About the role

Intermedia is seeking a Deployment DevOps Engineer to own and improve application deployment processes across environments. You will design, build and maintain automated release pipelines using Octopus Deploy, GitHub and Ansible, ensuring that production releases are reliable, repeatable and secure.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end release lifecycle: build, package, deploy, verify and rollback.
• Develop and maintain Octopus Deploy projects, lifecycles, channels, variables and deployment processes.
• Implement deployment automation with Ansible playbooks, roles and inventories.
• Maintain Git‑based release workflows in GitHub, including branching, tagging and versioning.
• Build and support CI pipelines in GitHub Actions (or equivalent) to produce artifacts and trigger Octopus releases.
• Standardize deployment patterns across applications using templates and reusable Ansible roles.
• Manage environment configuration and secrets with controlled variable sets and permissions.
• Improve deployment safety through approvals, health checks, smoke tests and automated rollback strategies.
• Support production releases, troubleshoot failures and drive root‑cause analysis.
• Maintain release documentation, runbooks and change‑management practices.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a DevOps, Release or Deployment Engineer supporting production deployments.
• Strong hands‑on expertise with Octopus Deploy, including process design and multi‑environment releases.
• Deep knowledge of Ansible for deployment and configuration management.
• Solid experience with GitHub workflows, pull‑request processes and release tagging.
• Understanding of CI/CD concepts, artifact management and version promotion.
• Administration and troubleshooting skills on Windows and/or Linux platforms.
