Data Scientist

About the role

The Data Scientist will lead advanced‑analytics projects across commercial, manufacturing, supply‑chain and engineering functions. Working closely with business partners and external vendors, you will develop analytical models and insights that solve specific business problems and drive measurable impact.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end data‑science initiatives, from problem definition to deployment of predictive models.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including commercial insights, engineering, and IT—to translate business needs into analytical solutions.
• Design, prototype, and validate high‑performance algorithms and machine‑learning models using Python.
• Write reusable, well‑documented code and manage large, complex datasets in Linux environments.
• Query relational and graph databases using SQL and other query languages.
• Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders through clear visualisations and PowerPoint narratives.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Engineering or a related field with at least 2 years of experience (or equivalent Bachelor’s + 4 years, Associate’s + 8 years).
• Proven experience leading data‑science projects from conception to production.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to perform SWOT analysis and propose appropriate methodologies.
• Excellent communication skills to convey technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.

Required skills

• Python programming and libraries such as scikit‑learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras.
• R or SAS for statistical analysis.
• SQL and familiarity with graph‑database query languages.
• Linux command‑line proficiency.
• Version‑controlled, reusable code development.
• Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for data manipulation and presentation.
