Data Engineering Associate – Fashion

About the role

Metyis is seeking a Data Engineering Associate to join its global Data & Analytics team at the HUGO BOSS Digital Campus in Porto. You will help build a state‑of‑the‑art data architecture, support advanced analytics, and enhance the eCommerce platform for a leading premium fashion brand.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose data‑related problems, develop hypotheses and implement solutions.
• Process structured and unstructured data, including ETL activities.
• Develop and automate data‑processing code to build scalable solutions.
• Design, implement and maintain data solutions for client projects.
• Communicate with executive‑level clients and collaborate with data‑science, reporting and product development teams.

Required profile

• 3–6 years of experience in data engineering.
• Graduate degree or higher with coursework in programming or data analytics.
• Strong logical reasoning, critical thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
• Business acumen and appreciation for business processes.

Required skills

• Proficient programming in Python, Scala or other scripting languages.
• Advanced SQL knowledge.
• Fundamental understanding of big‑data concepts.
• Experience with at least one cloud platform (Microsoft Azure, AWS or GCP).
• Familiarity with GIT and CI/CD pipelines.
