Data Engineer

About the role

Join Gapfy as a Data Engineer to help transform complex data into actionable insights for a UK‑based client. This hybrid position allows you to work remotely from anywhere in Europe, with one day per month on‑site to collaborate with stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and optimise data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Databricks.
• Develop and maintain ETL/ELT processes and data‑warehousing solutions.
• Create data mappings, enforce standards and ensure data quality through reference datasets.
• Translate complex datasets into clear, actionable reports and visualisations.
• Apply advanced analytics and machine‑learning techniques to solve business challenges.

Required profile

• Proven experience in data engineering, data modelling and data warehousing.
• Strong proficiency with Azure Data Factory, Databricks and ETL/ELT workflows.
• Advanced programming skills in Python, SQL or R.
• Excellent problem‑solving, analytical and communication abilities.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment.
