Data Engineer – Big Data (Hybrid, Porto)

About the role

We are looking for a Data Engineer specialized in Big Data to join our Porto team. You will design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines that turn raw information into actionable insights, working in a hybrid environment with two days a week on‑site.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement robust data pipelines using Python and PySpark.
• Develop and maintain data models and SQL queries to support analytics.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional and distributed teams to integrate data solutions.
• Apply DevOps practices, managing CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins.
• Handle deployments and releases using XL Deploy and XL Release.
• Maintain source code in Git and use Visual Studio Code or similar IDEs.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience as a Data Engineer with a focus on Big Data.
• Strong knowledge of data modeling principles and SQL.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and source‑code management (Git).
• Proactive, autonomous, and comfortable working in cross‑functional teams.
• Fluent English (B2 level or higher).
• Based in Portugal with EU citizenship or a valid Portuguese work permit.
