Data Center Technician – Power & Smart Hands

About the role

Our client, a specialist data centre services provider, is expanding its team across Europe. The Data Center Technician – Power & Smart Hands will work on live power infrastructure upgrades, smart‑hands operations, and hardware installations in hyperscale data centre environments.

Key responsibilities

• Support live PDU replacement and power infrastructure activities in operational data centres.
• Install, replace, and de‑commission rack‑level power distribution systems.
• Perform structured cabling, patching, rack‑and‑stack, and hardware installation tasks.
• Assist remote operations teams with diagnostics, cable swaps, hardware reseats, and smart‑hands activities.
• Coordinate with customer engineering and operations teams during maintenance and change windows.
• Maintain accurate documentation, including change records, asset updates, and installation reports.
• Travel regularly between customer sites across Europe and adhere to safety, ESD, PPE, and change‑management procedures.

Required profile

• Proven experience in live production data centre environments.
• Strong understanding of rack power distribution and critical power infrastructure.
• Experience with PDU installations, replacements, or live swap activities.
• Knowledge of structured cabling and data centre installation standards.
• Comfortable working with single‑phase and three‑phase power systems.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively across Europe.
• Based in, or willing to relocate to, Portugal or the Netherlands.
