Competence Development Manager – Quality Function

About the role

This position supports the Federated Academies in Airbus Defence and Space by shaping the competence strategy for the Quality function. You will drive professional growth, ensure compliance, and build a robust learning culture across engineering, industrial, procurement and quality domains in a transnational environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a competence strategy for the Quality domain, aligning learning offers with short‑, medium‑ and long‑term business needs.
• Anticipate industry trends, identify emerging roles, and maintain an up‑to‑date jobs and competencies catalogue.
• Conduct gap analyses to pinpoint skill shortages and recommend corrective actions.
• Manage the lifecycle of jobs and competence catalogs, ensuring learning solutions stay relevant.
• Define requirements for new training solutions and coordinate development with internal SMEs and external providers.
• Create learning paths, oversee deployment, and monitor adherence to the learning plan.
• Participate in communication strategies to promote knowledge sharing and strengthen the Quality network.
• Contribute to cross‑functional projects to harmonise learning standards across the Federated Academies.

Required profile

• Proven experience in competence development, learning strategy or talent management within an engineering, industrial, procurement or quality context.
• Strong analytical skills to forecast future skill needs and perform gap analyses.
• Ability to work collaboratively with subject‑matter experts, training providers and internal stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills to influence and promote learning initiatives across a multinational organization.
