Certified Accountant

About the role

We are a historic financial institution operating across Europe and Latin America. As a Certified Accountant you will ensure the accuracy, integrity and regulatory compliance of our accounting and tax processes within the bank.

Key responsibilities

• Record accounting entries and process invoices with appropriate treatment.
• Perform ATM booking and other operational movements, ensuring accurate records.
• Execute account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Manage and monitor the General Ledger and related retail accounts.
• Prepare periodic financial reporting and management information.
• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll accounting entries.
• Maintain tax records, statutory declarations and ensure compliance with Portuguese tax legislation.
• Register, update and monitor tangible and intangible assets, supporting depreciation and amortization calculations.
• Calculate and record minimum reserve requirements.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, cost analysis and support internal and external audits.
• Participate in monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities and ensure timely regulatory reporting.

• Efficient at identifying and resolving accounting discrepancies.
• Capable of managing multiple deadlines and priorities.
• Solid understanding of accounting and tax regulations within a regulated banking environment.
• Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
