Critical Software is seeking a Business Development Director for the Energy sector to shape and accelerate its market presence. This senior position will influence how the company positions itself, selects focus areas, and translates technical excellence into long‑term customer value.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute a focused business development strategy for the Energy domain aligned with the company’s long‑term vision.
• Maintain deep, up‑to‑date knowledge of the Energy ecosystem and identify high‑value market opportunities.
• Build and nurture long‑lasting relationships with operational leaders and C‑level decision makers across the sector.
• Lead strategic account planning, long‑term client growth initiatives, and complex consultative sales cycles from inception to closure.
• Collaborate with engineering, delivery, and leadership teams to craft credible value propositions and proposals.
• Represent Critical Software at executive meetings, industry events, and strategic customer engagements.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of business development experience, preferably within the Energy sector.
• Strong technical or engineering background combined with proven commercial success.
• Demonstrated ability to open doors, shape strategic deals, and navigate complex sales cycles.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and influence skills in English.
• Strategic mindset, resilience, high ownership, and willingness to travel across the EU and occasionally beyond.
