Business Controller

About the role

We are looking for a Business Controller to join our Porto office and support the financial performance of a business unit within a fast‑growing renewable‑energy company. You will be responsible for budgeting, forecasting, analysing profitability and operational KPIs, and acting as a strategic partner to management.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, monitor and analyse budgets, forecasts and financial performance for the assigned business unit or department.
• Track key financial and operational KPIs, identify trends, variances and areas for improvement.
• Provide management with actionable insights and recommendations to support strategic decision‑making and business growth.
• Ensure compliance with corporate financial policies, accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Perform profitability analysis by product, service, client or market segment.
• Support investment planning, cost‑control initiatives and operational efficiency programmes.
• Develop and maintain financial models and reporting tools to facilitate data‑driven decisions.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align financial objectives with operational plans and business strategy.

Required profile

• Experience in financial and management reporting, budget accounting and financial modelling.
• Knowledge of analytical accounting and business operations.
• Proven decision‑making, problem‑solving and results‑oriented support experience.
• Strong accuracy, attention to detail and critical thinking.
• Good communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
