Backend Software Engineer

About the role

Welvaart is looking for a Backend Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain modern backend solutions that power our digital products. You will work closely with product, QA, and other engineering teams to deliver high‑quality features that meet performance and scalability standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test, deploy, and maintain backend services and REST APIs.
• Ensure code quality, performance optimization, and maintainability.
• Apply architectural principles such as micro‑frontends for modularity and scalability.
• Use GitLab for version control, CI/CD pipelines, and team collaboration.
• Collaborate with backend, product, and QA teams to deliver features.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and ensure cross‑device responsiveness and accessibility.

Required profile

• Graduate degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
• At least 4 years of experience in a similar backend engineering role.
• Experience with continuous integration tools and processes.
• Proficiency in Node.js and/or Spring Boot frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript, Kotlin or Java.
• Familiarity with testing frameworks such as JUnit, Selenium, Jest.
• Experience with databases like MongoDB, Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL or SQL Server.
• Experience with messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ) and caching solutions (Redis, Memcached).
