Backend PHP Developer (Laravel) – Permanent, French speaker

About the role

We are looking for a Backend PHP Developer to join our brand‑new Technology Hub in Lisbon. You will design, develop and maintain robust backend services and REST APIs using PHP 8.x and Laravel, working closely with front‑end developers, product teams and operations.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement backend features with PHP 8.x and the Laravel framework.
• Build, document and maintain REST APIs for front‑end applications and external partners.
• Design, optimise and maintain MySQL databases for performance and scalability.
• Develop and manage asynchronous processes, including queues, jobs and scheduled tasks.
• Write and maintain automated tests using PHPUnit and Pest to ensure reliability and code coverage.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions and promote best development practices.
• Monitor application performance, troubleshoot incidents and contribute to security and stability.

Required profile

• Strong experience with PHP 8.x and the Laravel framework.
• Fluent French language skills.
• Proven experience building REST APIs and working with MySQL.
• Experience writing automated tests with PHPUnit or Pest.
• Ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams and contribute to technical decisions.
