Analytics Application Engineer/Developer

About the role

We are looking for a full‑stack Software Engineer to join the Data & Analytics team at Mercer, supporting Oliver Wyman’s new hub in Lisbon. The role blends modern front‑end development with back‑end Python services to create tools that let users explore and visualise data effectively.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop full‑stack applications using MEAN/MERN stacks (MongoDB, Express.js, Angular or React, Node.js) and Python FastAPI.
• Build and maintain data‑exploration, visualisation, and reporting platforms.
• Implement micro‑service and API‑first architectures.
• Containerise applications with Docker and orchestrate with Kubernetes.
• Create clean, responsive, and accessible UI components using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Optimise front‑end performance for speed and scalability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven experience with Python (preferably FastAPI) and MEAN/MERN stacks.
• Familiarity with both SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Strong understanding of Git, CI/CD pipelines and Agile development.
