About the role

GMT, a leading distributor of fresh, frozen and dry food products, is seeking a Category Analyst to drive market insights and optimize product placement across its portfolio. The role combines data analysis, trend monitoring and cross‑functional collaboration to enhance the consumer shopping experience.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze market trends and recommend strategies based on findings.
• Identify opportunities that may hinder category growth and propose solutions.
• Evaluate data to determine optimal shelf positioning for each product.
• Lead simplification and navigation projects within assigned categories to improve consumer purchase experience.
• Prepare and present reports derived from IRI, Nielsen, Circana and POS data, including actionable recommendations.
• Coordinate product entry and exit in recommended planograms and monitor their performance.
• Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to support product positioning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Marketing or related field.
• Minimum three years of experience working with POS, Nielsen, Circana or IRI data.
• Basic knowledge of financial analysis.
• Excellent analytical, communication and writing abilities.
• Comfortable presenting findings to public audiences.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Hands‑on experience with IRI, Nielsen, Circana and POS data platforms.
