AI Backend Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Backend Engineer specialized in AI agents to design and operate the Traia.io AI Agent runtime. You will build the core infrastructure that enables multiple autonomous agents to collaborate, execute workflows, and interact with tools securely at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and develop the backend systems powering the AI Agent runtime.
• Create and maintain multi‑agent orchestration platforms and autonomous workflow engines.
• Build infrastructure for agent runtimes, tool execution, memory management, and task coordination.
• Integrate MCP servers, external tools, skills, and execution environments.
• Design secure, sandboxed, containerized deployment architectures for AI agents.
• Implement scalable APIs, message queues, event‑driven pipelines, and real‑time communication layers.
• Collaborate with AI engineers and infrastructure teams to shape next‑generation autonomous systems.

Required profile

• Strong backend engineering experience with Python.
• Hands‑on experience building AI agents, autonomous workflows, or multi‑agent orchestration systems.
• Solid knowledge of distributed systems, Docker, Kubernetes, and secure deployment patterns.
• Familiarity with MCP servers, tool‑calling frameworks, RAG pipelines, or AI‑enhanced execution frameworks.
• Understanding of security, isolation, scalability, and performance trade‑offs in autonomous environments.
