AI-Assisted Software Engineering Intern

About the role

Bosch Car Multimedia, part of the Bosch Group's Automotive Electronics division, is looking for an AI-Assisted Software Engineering Intern in Ovar. You will help shape the future of software engineering through Generative AI, researching, prototyping and evaluating technologies that support software engineers throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). You will work alongside experienced engineers to improve development efficiency, software quality and developer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Research emerging AI-assisted workflows and identify where Generative AI can be applied across the SDLC.
• Design and develop automated solutions using LLM APIs, prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI agents and context-window optimization.
• Support integrating AI-powered tools into development workflows, CI/CD pipelines and cloud environments.
• Define metrics to evaluate the impact of AI solutions on productivity, quality, usability and adoption.
• Collaborate with engineers to gather feedback, validate concepts and improve solutions.
• Contribute through code reviews, technical documentation, demonstrations and knowledge sharing.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and turn them into practical developer tools.

Required profile

• Final-year Bachelor's or Master's student, or recent graduate (less than one year), in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence or a related field.
• Initial academic, personal or internship experience in software development or AI-related projects.
• Good written and spoken English.
• Structured, analytical approach, independent learning, curiosity and collaboration.

Required skills

• Python programming; C or C++ is a plus.
• Familiarity with LLM APIs, prompt engineering, RAG, AI agents, CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms or AI-assisted development tools is advantageous.
• Understanding of software development processes and developer workflows.
