Senior Java Developer (Hybrid, Lisbon)

About the role

Closer Consulting is looking for a Senior Java Developer to join its multidisciplinary team in Lisbon. You will work on complex data‑science projects for clients in banking, telecommunications, healthcare and more, using a hybrid on‑site/remote model.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Java applications using Spring, Hibernate and JUnit.
• Implement SOAP web services and RESTful APIs, and integrate them with front‑end technologies such as JSF, PrimeFaces and Vue.js.
• Use development tools like JBoss EAP, Maven, Jenkins, Nexus, GitLab and SonarQube for CI/CD pipelines.
• Containerise services with Docker, orchestrate with Kubernetes, and deploy to cloud environments.
• Analyse legacy code, troubleshoot issues, and ensure delivery follows best‑practice standards (tests, code quality, integration).
• Contribute to a collaborative team culture, propose improvements and share knowledge.

Required profile

• Fluent Portuguese and good English communication skills.
• Proven experience in senior‑level Java development and micro‑services architecture.
• Ability to work autonomously in a hybrid setting and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
