Expansion Director – Lisbon & Surrounding Areas

About the role

Genteel Home, a premium tourist‑apartment operator, is seeking an Expansion Director to spearhead the launch and growth of its portfolio in Lisbon and the surrounding region. The role combines strategic market analysis, partnership building, and hands‑on project execution, offering full autonomy to shape the company’s presence in Portugal.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive Genteel Home’s market entry strategy for Portugal.
• Identify, evaluate and prioritize new property and partnership opportunities.
• Lead negotiations and secure agreements with property owners, investors and strategic partners.
• Conduct financial and strategic viability analyses for each project.
• Oversee the end‑to‑end implementation and opening of new operations.
• Monitor market trends, competition and industry developments to inform decision‑making.
• Maintain and expand relationships with key stakeholders in the tourism and real‑estate sectors.

Required profile

• University degree in Tourism, Business Administration, Economics, Finance or a related field; advanced degree (MBA, Master) is a plus.
• Minimum 8 years of senior‑level experience in business development, expansion or strategic project management, preferably within tourism, hospitality, accommodation or real‑estate.
• Proven track record of negotiating and closing high‑value agreements.
• Strong financial analysis capability and commercial acumen.
• Ability to work independently with high decision‑making authority.
• Fluent in Portuguese and English.
• Willingness to travel as required.
