Engineering Technician

About the role

As an Engineering Technician at Aspen Surgical, you will support the manufacturing process by maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving complex electromechanical equipment. You will work closely with engineers to design, install, and validate new production machinery and control systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design, program, troubleshoot, and test Allen Bradley PLCs and operator interfaces.
• Diagnose and correct electromechanical and control problems on production equipment.
• Disassemble machinery, replace defective parts, and perform preventive‑maintenance tasks.
• Assemble and install equipment using hand and precision tools, following pneumatic, electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical blueprints.
• Prepare documentation of all mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic changes.
• Assist Area Engineers with IQ/OQ and software validation for new or modified equipment.
• Identify and purchase spare parts, mentor technical personnel, and drive continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree preferred (or associate degree) in electronics, electronic engineering technology, or mechanical engineering technology.
• Minimum five years of relevant experience preferred.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and interpret technical drawings.

Required skills

• Allen Bradley PLC programming and troubleshooting.
• General PLC troubleshooting for non‑Allen Bradley systems.
• Electromechanical system diagnostics.
• Pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical blueprint reading.
• Preventive‑maintenance planning and execution.
• Equipment assembly and installation.
• Documentation of equipment changes.
• IQ/OQ and software validation procedures.
