Assistant General Manager

About the role

The Assistant General Manager reports directly to the General Manager and leads daily club operations, with most operational department heads reporting to the AGM. The role aligns departments around service standards, coordinates operational delivery, and holds leaders accountable for team performance and the member experience.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily club operations through department heads, ensuring coordination and consistent service across all areas.
• Translate Discovery Land Company’s mission, values, and service standards into daily operating practices and monitor performance gaps.
• Build relationships with members, homeowners, and guests, addressing concerns promptly and coordinating programs and events that reflect member interests.
• Support the General Manager in financial oversight, including review of income statements, balance sheets, cash flow, and capital budgets.
• Recruit, train, develop, and evaluate department heads and staff, setting performance expectations and conducting regular briefings.
• Provide daily operational summaries to the General Manager, highlighting highlights, concerns, and follow‑up actions.

Required profile

• At least six years of leadership experience in an established luxury hospitality environment.
• Demonstrated strength in performance management and team development.
• Sound financial knowledge and familiarity with critical‑path planning and operational business systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and shifts exceeding eight hours.
