Accounting Generalist

About the role

The Accounting Generalist will support the Chief Accountant in maintaining the hotel’s general ledger, balance‑sheet reconciliations and internal controls. Working within the Finance Department of Four Seasons Resort and Residences Puerto Rico, the role also oversees payroll, accounts payable and general cashiering functions.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Chief Accountant with internal‑control procedures to protect hotel assets.
• Supervise payroll processing, accounts payable and general cashiering activities.
• Support department managers on labor standards, payroll issues and related matters.
• Participate in month‑end close, including preparation of financial statements, accruals and journal entries.
• Maintain and investigate all balance‑sheet account reconciliations and bank reconciliations.
• Help prepare budgets and forecasts under the direction of senior finance leadership.

Required profile

• Experience assisting senior accountants with ledger maintenance and reconciliations.
• Familiarity with payroll, accounts payable and cash handling processes.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively with finance and operational teams.
