Senior Software Engineer – Observability (Managed Inputs)

About the role

As part of Elastic's Observability organization, you will join the Managed Inputs team within the Streams program to build high‑performing backend ingestion pipelines. The role focuses on designing, implementing and operating scalable services that collect and process telemetry from a wide range of sources.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, deploy and maintain high‑performing, scalable features for Managed Inputs and Managed Integrations across major cloud providers.
• Take ownership of projects from concept through delivery, including on‑call rotation for service reliability.
• Provide engineering‑level support for escalated customer cases and mentor peers through code reviews.
• Monitor alerts, build SLIs/SLOs and ensure system stability.

Required profile

• Intermediate to expert proficiency in Go with strong analytical and debugging abilities.
• Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes, Infrastructure‑as‑Code (Terraform) and Kafka.
• Solid understanding of observability concepts (tracing, metrics, logs, profiling) and microservice architecture.
• Ability to conduct root‑cause analysis and work independently in a globally distributed team.
• Experience or interest in OpenTelemetry and AI‑assisted development tools.
