Staff Information Security Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Staff Information Security Engineer to lead the operationalisation and maturity of Five9’s Cyber Resiliency program across our multi‑cloud environment. The role combines program governance, tool ownership and close collaboration with engineering teams to drive remediation of infrastructure resilience issues.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end lifecycle of the Cyber Resiliency program, including tool administration, system mapping, criticality tiering and issue triage.
• Develop and maintain governance artefacts such as process documentation, SLAs, escalation paths and quarterly review cadences.
• Produce executive‑level reporting on resilience scores, remediation velocity, IaC coverage and risk exposure.
• Partner with engineering leads to prioritize and remediate infrastructure resilience findings, tracking progress through Jira.
• Support the Cloud Security team on architecture reviews, policy‑as‑code development and automated detection of cloud misconfigurations across GCP, AWS and Azure.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in information security, including senior technical responsibilities.
• Proven track record of operationalising security programs with governance, processes and reporting.
• Strong communication skills to influence engineering and executive audiences without direct authority.
• Self‑directed and able to manage competing priorities across program and supporting workstreams.

Required skills

• Deep hands‑on experience with at least one major cloud platform (GCP preferred, AWS, Azure).
• Infrastructure‑as‑code expertise, specifically Terraform, and CI/CD pipeline integration.
• Security tooling experience such as CSPM/CNAPP platforms (e.g., Gambit, Wiz).
• Automation scripting with Python.
• Knowledge of IAM, networking, compute and storage security controls.
• Familiarity with security frameworks (NIST CSF, ISO 27001) and risk assessment methodologies.
