Senior Data Engineer (Analyst/Scientist) - Remote

About the role

Kake is a remote‑first community of senior engineers building data solutions for innovative products worldwide. We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer who can own data problems end‑to‑end, turning raw data into reliable insights and scalable pipelines while collaborating closely with product and engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and workflows for analytics, reporting, and modelling.
• Analyze large datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and actionable business insights.
• Develop, validate, and maintain statistical or machine‑learning models to solve business problems.
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity across all sources and pipelines.
• Design and maintain data models, schemas, and warehouses that support scalable analytics.
• Translate business questions into clear data solutions and reporting.
• Contribute to data best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Participate in requirement reviews and identify data risks early.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in data analysis, data science, or data engineering.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
• Hands‑on programming experience with Python, R, or a similar language.
• Experience building or maintaining data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, or data warehouses.
• Familiarity with data‑visualisation tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced remote environment.
