Senior Accountant

About the role

Reporting directly to the CFO, you will strengthen Host Wise’s internal accounting structure, delivering accurate, controlled, and consistent financial operations in a fast‑growing property‑management environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day accounting activities, ensuring precise financial records.
• Prepare monthly closings and provide timely financial information.
• Ensure compliance with Portuguese tax and accounting obligations (IVA, retenções, etc.).
• Manage reconciliations, current‑account control, and maintain robust documentation standards.
• Support the preparation of financial statements and internal reporting in close collaboration with the CFO.
• Improve accounting processes, controls, and workflows to support scaling and operational efficiency.
• Provide structure and review support across the finance team to raise execution quality.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Management or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in accounting roles, preferably with exposure to ERP and invoicing systems.
• Certified Chartered Accountant (Portuguese TOC / OCC certification) or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of the Portuguese tax and accounting framework.
• Highly autonomous with a strong ownership mindset.
