Part-time Lecturer in Statistics (Lisbon, Sep 2026)

About the role

Forward College is seeking a part‑time Lecturer in Statistics to teach two first‑year courses during the 2026/2027 academic year. The appointment runs from September 2026 to April 2027 at the Lisbon campus and is focused on small‑group, flipped‑classroom teaching.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver 22 two‑hour seminars for the “Introduction to Mathematical Statistics” course (≈14 students).
• Design and deliver 11 two‑hour seminars for the “Statistics 1” course (≈50 students across three groups).
• Prepare and grade four formative assessments per course.
• Provide four one‑on‑one tutoring sessions per student for the Mathematical Statistics course and 30 hours of individual tutoring for the Statistics 1 course.
• Adopt the flipped‑classroom methodology using LSE learning material.

Required profile

• PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Econometrics or a closely related field.
• Right to work in Portugal (no visa sponsorship).
• Available to start in September 2026.
