Material Planner & Buyer – Automotive Supply Chain

About the role

As a Material Planner & Buyer at Preh Portugal, you will ensure the smooth flow of components for automotive technologies. Working in Trofa, you will coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to guarantee timely deliveries, optimal stock levels and cost‑effective purchasing.

Key responsibilities

• Create and convert requisitions into purchase orders using SAP.
• Manage scheduling agreements and standard purchase orders.
• Issue kanban call orders and process order confirmations.
• Monitor deliveries, carrier schedules and shortage reports.
• Negotiate order changes with suppliers to support production.
• Address supplier non‑compliance on dates, quantities or quality.
• Maintain purchasing documentation and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of experience in procurement, material planning or supply‑chain functions.
• Academic background in Engineering, Management, Logistics or related field (preferred).
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving mindset.
• Proactive, detail‑oriented and able to work in a global environment.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with SAP (MM/PP modules) or similar ERP systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
