Junior AI Engineer

About the role

As a Junior AI Engineer you will join Accenture Digital Core’s fast‑moving team in Lisbon, helping clients build secure, scalable AI‑driven solutions. You will work closely with backend, platform and AI engineers to support and improve data and machine‑learning pipelines in production.

Key responsibilities

• Support operation, monitoring and troubleshooting of data and ML pipelines.
• Perform data validation and sanity checks to ensure quality and reliability.
• Collaborate on code changes using Git and follow version‑control best practices.
• Build and maintain batch and streaming pipelines with Spark / PySpark.
• Support CI/CD and DevOps practices for data and ML workloads on Azure.
• Develop and test pipeline logic in notebooks and Azure environments.
• Use ML experimentation tools such as MLflow, Weights & Biases, and Databricks ML for model validation.
• Ensure observability through log analysis and basic alert handling.
• Apply secure data‑handling principles and adhere to compliance constraints.
• Follow Agile delivery and documentation practices.

Required profile

• University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, Engineering or a related technical field.
• 1‑3 years of relevant experience.
• Professional English (C1) with strong communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in distributed, cross‑functional teams.
• Proactive mindset and willingness to learn.
