Java Software Engineer – Enterprise Web Applications (Vaadin)

About the role

Join Bosch's Research & Development Center in Braga to design, develop, and maintain Java‑based enterprise applications that support production processes across Bosch plants worldwide. You will work within an international, multicultural software development team and collaborate closely with production plants and internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java enterprise applications using Vaadin.
• Collaborate with teams in Braga, Salzgitter, and Hildesheim.
• Engage with production plants and stakeholders to define innovative software solutions.
• Own the full software development lifecycle: requirements, implementation, testing, documentation, peer reviews, release management, maintenance, and support.
• Support integration and operation of application servers such as Tomcat, TomEE, and WildFly.
• Use ticketing systems, version control, and planning/tracking tools to ensure software quality and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate technical topics with external software suppliers and internal Bosch partners.

Required profile

• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a comparable qualification.
• Experience in Java software development and backend application design.
• Initial experience with SQL databases.
