FP&A Analyst, Expense Management

About the role

PagerDuty is seeking an FP&A Analyst focused on expense management. The analyst will partner with finance leadership and business units to deliver insight on company spend, support budgeting, forecasting and reporting, and help drive automation across expense processes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly budget‑vs‑actual analysis and lead review sessions with GTM, R&D, and G&A leaders.
• Act as primary liaison with Accounting for month‑end close, including purchase‑order and invoice accruals.
• Assist corporate FP&A with monthly forecasts, annual budgeting and long‑range planning, identifying variance drivers and preparing executive presentations.
• Develop, analyze and interpret financial and operating results, providing recommendations to improve forecast accuracy.
• Build and maintain financial models and reporting tools for business partners and senior leadership.
• Execute ad‑hoc financial analyses and presentations for senior management.
• Support vendor and platform administration for expense systems.
• Identify and implement AI‑driven automation opportunities to streamline expense management and FP&A processes.

Required profile

• 0‑2 years of experience in corporate finance, accounting, expense operations, or FP&A.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and attention‑to‑detail abilities.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting financial insights to stakeholders.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel and financial‑modeling capabilities.
• Experience handling high volumes of transactional and financial data.
• Familiarity with corporate platforms such as NetSuite, Coupa or Pigment (a plus).
