Environmental Health Services Technician

About the role

The Environmental Health Services Technician ensures a clean, hygienic, and safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff within FMCNA facilities. This onsite position focuses on thorough cleaning, disinfection, waste management, and basic maintenance to support high‑quality healthcare delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect all patient‑facing areas, including bathrooms, kitchens, waiting rooms, treatment zones, and exterior spaces.
• Maintain equipment cleanliness (televisions, computers, HVAC units, furniture) and ensure waste containers are handled per policy.
• Manage cleaning supplies, label chemicals according to MSDS/HMIS, and replenish hygiene materials.
• Report maintenance issues such as leaks or clogged drains and perform minor repairs (painting, bulb replacement, lock adjustments).
• Prepare and clean dialysis prep areas, handle and dilute disinfectants, and clean dialysis stations post‑treatment.
• Perform inventory tasks, receive and stock supplies, and assist staff with moving equipment.
• Initiate the RO machine and conduct initial water quality testing.

Required profile

• Ability to follow FMCNA compliance programs and regulatory requirements.
• Attention to detail in cleaning and chemical handling.
• Willingness to perform physical tasks and lift heavy objects safely.
