Engineering Manager – Cybersecurity R&D

About the role

This role leads a team at the frontier of cybersecurity within HPE’s Junos Cybersecurity R&D organization. The team focuses on building and sustaining secure routers, switches and firewalls running Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved.

Key responsibilities

• Build and lead a team of individual contributors delivering security certification readiness, EUCRA support, security features and AI‑driven defenses.
• Provide dynamic leadership to address rapidly changing product security requirements and emerging threats.
• Collaborate with peer managers across geographies to plan and execute cybersecurity projects.
• Manage headcount, deliverables, schedules and budgets for multiple ongoing projects.
• Communicate project status to stakeholders and drive process improvements and cost reductions.
• Oversee people‑care activities including hiring, performance management, coaching and career development.

Required profile

• First‑level university degree or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience and 1‑2 years of people‑management experience.
• Broad knowledge of cybersecurity, networking, network products (routers, switches, firewalls), networking operating systems and software engineering.
• Agile leadership skills such as coaching, team‑building and conflict resolution.
• Strong analytical, technical problem‑solving and communication abilities.
