Data Scientist

About the role

We are looking for a passionate Data Scientist to join Opplane in Lisbon. The role focuses on extracting insights from large data sets, building predictive models, and supporting product, sales and marketing teams to drive business impact.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to identify data‑driven business opportunities.
• Provide analytical support to product, sales and marketing functions.
• Mine and analyze data to optimise product development, marketing techniques and overall business strategy.
• Evaluate new data sources and data‑collection methods for accuracy and relevance.
• Design and implement custom data models and algorithms.
• Apply predictive modelling to improve customer experience and revenue generation.
• Work with cross‑functional teams to deploy models and monitor their performance.
• Develop tools and processes for ongoing model performance and data quality monitoring.

Required profile

• Strong problem‑solving abilities with a focus on product development.
• Experience using statistical programming languages such as Python and SQL to manipulate large data sets.
• Solid understanding of machine‑learning techniques (e.g., clustering, decision trees) and their practical trade‑offs.
• Knowledge of statistical methods including regression, distribution properties and hypothesis testing.
• Ability to communicate findings clearly across teams.
• Motivation to continuously learn new technologies and techniques.
