Controller – Financial Analysis & Reporting

About the role

We are seeking a Controller to partner with the Vice‑President & Chief Financial Officer in shaping enterprise‑wide data analysis and reporting for our eastern Canadian operations. You will play a strategic role in driving financial insight, supporting budgeting cycles, and contributing to key business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage operational efficiency analyses to identify process‑improvement opportunities.
• Support product and business‑segment evaluations, including budgeting, variance analysis, and financial planning.
• Validate monthly reports from head office, identify variances, and compile annual target reviews.
• Prepare financial and non‑financial presentations for BU Management and Segment Board meetings.
• Assist internal quality and compliance initiatives, and act as a strategic financial partner to senior leadership.
• Lead special projects such as pricing analysis, investment evaluation, ERP/reporting system enhancements, and financial modeling for equipment purchases and inventory optimization.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Management, Business Administration, Commerce or related field.
• At least three years of experience in business/project analysis, management consulting, or a controller‑type role.
• Strong analytical and critical‑thinking abilities with a results‑oriented mindset.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building effective relationships across the organization.
• Willingness to travel nationally and internationally as needed.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong command of Microsoft Office applications.
