Commercial Lawyer – Legal Counsel (Portugal)

About the role

Our client, a global pharmaceutical manufacturer, is seeking a Commercial Lawyer to join its legal team in Portugal, based just outside Lisbon. The role will support European operations, focusing on commercial contracts, manufacturing matters in Portugal, and corporate governance.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of complex commercial contracts for the European business.
• Provide legal advice on trading terms, European procurement and supply chain arrangements.
• Support manufacturing activities in Portugal, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
• Assist with corporate and governance matters across the European region.
• Collaborate with the global legal team to align local practices with worldwide policies.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with experience in commercial or corporate law, preferably in the pharmaceutical sector.
• Demonstrated ability to handle complex cross‑border contracts and procurement issues.
• Business fluency in English (both written and spoken) is essential.
• Experience working in an in‑house legal environment or a reputable law firm.

Required skills
