Backend API Developer (Python) – Sports Trading

About the role

We are looking for a Backend API Developer to build and maintain the high‑performance infrastructure behind a cutting‑edge sports trading platform. You will work on systems where milliseconds matter, ensuring real‑time sports data is processed reliably and at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and scale API services using Python.
• Optimize PostgreSQL databases and data pipelines for low‑latency queries.
• Maintain and improve distributed systems that handle real‑time sports data.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to integrate scraping infrastructure and other services.
• Ensure code quality and reliability using Git and modern development practices.

Required profile

• Proven ability to ship production‑ready code in fast‑paced environments.
• Self‑motivated, takes ownership and works autonomously.
• Strong interest in solving complex backend and distributed‑system challenges.
• Background in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science or a related field.
• Passion for sports is a plus, but not mandatory.
