Associate Director of Tax Accounting

About the role

Deel is seeking an Associate Director of Tax Accounting to lead its tax accounting and reporting function as the company prepares for rapid growth and an IPO. The role bridges global tax strategy with execution, ensuring accurate tax reporting, SOX‑aligned controls, and high‑quality disclosures in financial statements and the S‑1 filing.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and verify all tax disclosures for financial reports, including the IPO S‑1 filing.
• Translate high‑level tax strategy into clear, compliant financial reporting.
• Maintain SOX‑aligned controls over tax accounting processes.
• Oversee all taxes reflected in the company’s financial statements and related reporting.
• Partner with senior leadership to operationalize tax strategies.
• Serve as primary liaison for auditors and external tax advisors.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading tax accounting functions in a high‑growth, public‑company or IPO‑ready environment.
• Deep knowledge of GAAP, international tax principles, and SOX compliance.
• Strong track record of preparing tax disclosures for SEC filings.
• Excellent communication skills to work with senior leadership, auditors, and external advisors.
