Accountant – Corporate Finance & Tax Specialist

About the role

DiRoots, a global custom software developer for Autodesk and SaaS platforms, is looking for a qualified Accountant to own its financial statements, tax compliance and reporting. You will support the business strategy by ensuring accurate accounting, timely payroll and clear financial insights.

Key responsibilities

• Review, validate and sign off on financial statements and tax declarations.
• Manage general and analytical accounting workflows, recording all digital and standard transactions.
• Prepare and submit monthly and annual statutory tax returns (VAT/IVA, IRC, IRS, Modelos 10/22, IES, etc.) in compliance with Portuguese law.
• Oversee reconciliation of digital payment flows, multi‑currency invoicing and subscription models.
• Produce monthly management accounts, cash‑flow statements and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Coordinate monthly payroll processing and related social‑security filings.
• Suggest internal workflow improvements and reporting optimisations.

Required profile

• Active registration with the Ordem dos Contabilistas Certificados (OCC) and legal capacity to sign company accounts in Portugal.
• Solid experience with the Portuguese accounting framework (SNC) and tax legislation.
• At least 3 years of corporate accounting or financial operations management experience.
• Proactive, highly organized and able to improve financial workflows.
• Fluent Portuguese and professional proficiency in English.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for reporting and reconciliation.
• Experience with Moloni accounting software (preferred).
• Knowledge of Stripe payment‑gateway management and transaction reconciliation (preferred).
